Food Sensitivities

Food sensitivities is a very controversial subject.

Many people do not believe in them and/or acknowledge they exist.

If you have suffered with irritating problems that have not been resolved with pills or surgery, then and only then will you consider that food sensitivities are real!

Food sensitivity is defined by food irritating or inflaming your body.

If you are in the crowd of people who believes that food does indeed affect your health and that food is a crucial part of your health, read on!!

Food sensitivity is defined by food that irritates or inflames your body.

Symptoms of food sensitivities can be subtle or profound.

Food sensitivities may not be as severe as a food allergy, but over time can be incredibly damaging.

When you consume foods that are harmful to your digestive system, your body cannot absorb vitamins and nutrients properly.

Not getting proper vitamins or nutrients can cause an infinite list of issues.

In addition to the lack of absorption, the constant irritation of your intestinal system can lead to a leaky gut and even more food sensitivities.

Many times processed foods cause your body to react to it like it would to drugs. Processed foods, like flour and sugar, are foods that most people do not tolerate well.

These foods are just like food sensitivities.

They act just like the foods you are sensitive to.

When you eat food that is not supportive to your body, your feel-good dopamine skyrockets.

You find yourself with an intense addiction to the very food that is causing you problems..

When you remove the offending food, your hunger signals and food cravings return to normal.

Food sensitivities block your body from feeling its natural state of well-being. Eating foods that you are sensitive or intolerant to slows down your body's natural healing process.

When you decide to stop eating food that does not support you, your body begins to heal and return to its natural state of well-being.

The only way to see this effect is if you completely remove the food.

You cannot dabble in and out of this.

Many times, it takes months to years to heal.

Removing foods is incredibly hard to do without support. I teach you exactly how to do this in my program.

Changing your food habits forever is not easy.

It is the same process as losing weight.

The support and education in making these changes increases your chances of success tenfold.

The adverse symptoms of a food sensitivity can be minor symptoms to full-blown diseases. They can be very vague or extremely profound.

Now that you are aware of what the symptoms can be, now what?

Noticing what foods are not supportive and tailoring your diet can be done in many ways. I teach a specific process in my program and I have a few exercised below. You must avoid the food or foods long enough for your body to heal.

  • How do you redesign your eating habits when the going gets tough?

  • How do you navigate the social aspect of being strict with food?

  • How do you keep yourself from becoming obsessed and freaked out?

It can be challenging to eat only supportive foods for your body.

It is also difficult not to become an obnoxious health freak!

There is a much easier way!

How do you even figure out what to eat or not eat?

There are several ways to start with, but the basis of my program walks you through this process.

The fundamental premise of what I teach is awareness of how food feels in your body.

By regaining consciousness and rebuilding your relationship with food, you will learn what types of food are supportive and how to create a food plan for yourself.

Here are 2 simple techniques to get you started.

1. What foods feel addictive?

When you crave and feel a compulsion to eat a specific food, it most likely is not supportive.

The addictive sensation is a symptom of inflammation.

This type of food causes a substantial dopamine high and crash.

Getting a high and crash from food is called DRUGGING yourself!

Eating food that gives you a high is taking a drug in the form of eating.

Healthy food feels boring, energizing, and very non-eventful. Healthy food can be tasty and delicious but not the intense, craving feeling of "I can't live without this food".

Eating supportive foods for your body is more of a content satisfaction.

This exercise is to try on the idea of removing a specific food from your life forever.

Can you cut certain foods out and not care?

If you get rid of apples, would you totally lose your mind?

Probably not. Apples are then most likely are a healthy choice for you to eat.

Do this exercise with all foods. If it feels so delicious that you will die if you can't ever eat it again, it may be a sign it's not supportive.

2. How do you feel after you eat?

Another way is by noticing what foods make you feel sick.

It's pretty simple, if you feel bad or have negative symptoms after you eat, it's likely that food is not supportive.

If you have a stomach ache or need to run to the bathroom after eating a plate of fettuccine alfredo, that's a good indication your body isn't loving that food.

The final piece is to do the above exercises and make a good plan.

Try that out for a few weeks or months and see how your body feels.

Check in with your body daily and weekly to measure for more energy, less pain, better sleep, less anxiety, and less depression. You may clear up symptoms you didn't even know were an issue.
