The Foundational Four
The key to achieving food freedom is understanding and implementing 4 primary building blocks.
The fundamental four are a holistic food plan, sleep, water, and emotional well-being.
You will create a food plan that is guided by your body's energetic response to what you eat. This is not a complicated process when you follow the building blocks below. You must create a plan from a place of empowerment. You will learn to eat food that supports your natural well-being, preferring invigorating food instead of harmful food.
If you aren't getting good sleep, your body will send your brain mixed signals. Poor sleep hygiene negates two of the foundations: emotional health and eating in response to your body's natural guidance. Sleep is fundamental, but many times, life responsibilities or bad habits get in the way. Only you can decide how to implement good sleep routines. Your brain will give you many excuses. Remember, hunger/ full signals, emotional health, and conscientious decision making all depend on a well-rested body.
Water is essential for proper biological functioning. When your body isn't adequately hydrated, the signals from your body to your brain don't communicate the way they do when you are hydrated.
Drink, drink, drink!
Solving your problems, including emotional problems, with food is never a long-term solution. The final and most important foundation skill is the ability to feel your emotions and take care of emotional well-being. If you aren't caring for your mental and emotional health, you cannot and will not eat, sleep or make supportive decisions that sustain your body's natural health.
