Fear

Fear can be one of the most destructive emotions we experience as humans.

Fear may seem useful at times, but today it rarely is. Fear is primal based 99% of the time. This is similar to the cave days when people were are all going to die and starve to death.

Today this rarely happens.

Who is starving, homeless, and devoid of love in his or her life? Do you know of anyone with these problems?

Fear is useful in dire situations but in everyday life, it is called stress.

Stress is the number one killer.

Fear is the emotion that stops us in our tracks.

It happens in one of two ways.

Firstly, you avoid taking any action because you don't want to feel fear.

Secondly, you distract yourself with other "problems" to avoid fear.

You know you are avoiding fear when you procrastinate, overeat, work too much, or are too busy.

Think of the actions you are doing on a daily basis to prevent feeling the emotion of fear.

Fear is like hunger. It doesn't go away.

If you want to gain mastery over fear, you must learn to dance with it.

Fear means you are on the right track!

When you experience fear, you know you are growing and on target to your goals.

Master your fear!

Make a list of things that freak you out.

Look at the list now, I want you to realize that the list needs to not be avoided. What you need is the courage to do it!

The way to gain mastery over fear is to move into fear.

Be curious about the fear and try to understand what it is.

Find the thought or thoughts that are causing your fears.

When you uncover the thoughts that are creating your fear, question them! Is there any truth to them?

What is the worst case scenario you are most afraid of? Is it even close to reality?

What is the worst thing that could happen to you?

I’ll tell you! The worst that can happen is an emotion.

The emotion of fear is so often vague and hazy. Clarify and write down your exact fears. Clarity gives you understanding, compassion, and forward movement.

Fear left unquestioned will eventually become constant anxiety humming in the back of your brain.

Most fear is surrounded by loss. A loss of safety, love, money, and respect.

When you look at this, fear is like a pie in the sky.

It’s not even close to reality. And when you realize you CAN feel any emotion (because you can) it's not that big of a deal!

Fear is not an emergency. It doesn't mean stop, it means go!

Courage is the emotion you take with you to move through fear, not eradication and avoidance.

Fear means you've moved out of your comfort zone.

Facing fear rewards you with amazing, fulfilling experiences.

The courage to face and feel fear is your journey to food freedom!

If you are going to lose weight permanently and heal your body from food sensitivities, you will leave the comfort of chocolate cake and go into emotional discomfort!

You will be uncomfortable learning how to think and behave in a new way.

You will feel fear! But with courage, you will gain confidence and competency and there is nothing that couldn't be sweeter!

Fear is just an emotion.

What you are thinking is producing your fear.

What are you thinking that is causing so much fear?

It is a primal emotion and it is also a protective emotion.

It remembers when things were terrible and then it replays that in our minds.

Remember, you are an adult now and you CAN experience fear!

Courage to face your fear is the solution.

When fear shows up, you know you are on the right path.

When you face fear with courage repetitively, you will reach your goal, and the sweet reward is mastery, confidence, and fulfillment.
