Your Powerful Mind

This is an extremely personal blog post of how powerful a person’s thinking is.

As you read this, I want you to insert your central beliefs about what is stopping you from achieving your natural weight or any goal for that matter.

I've had a cluster of thoughts that I've carried around for many, many years. A bunch of thoughts, which we believe are true, is what makes up a belief.

Here is my cluster:

I must be very very careful about what I can or can't do, otherwise it may trigger an anxiety attack.

I'm fragile.

My genetics dictate my weight and my mental health.

I can't be alone.

Everyone should be nice and fair.

All of these thoughts have cut a clear path to many, many unuseful emotions. These emotions have driven a lot of behaviors that have made me pretty miserable! And here is the worst part.....

Only none of them have ever been true.

Not a single one.

But, what I want to show you here is to be very, very careful about the thoughts you choose to think.

You may have a list as to why you can't ever reach your natural weight.

Why you can't eliminate the foods that are making you sick.

You may, like me, believe you have no power over your thoughts.

They must be true because I think them.

I have avoided so many things in life because I feared I couldn't handle the emotions they bring.

But I can.

I can always feel any emotion.

When I don't want to feel an emotion and I push it away, that's when the panic attacks start to crawl out.

What you think and believe is the main contributor to how you perceive the things in life you cannot control.

The trick here is to accept that yes, this is my current reality.

And I mean entirely accept it.

Entirely give up your struggle with what is happening. You will instantly have the power to learn, grow, and change the circumstance.

What I want to share here is that when I stopped believing the cluster of thoughts above, I have been able to get many different results in my life. I have been able to do so much more than before.

The level of love and joy are so much higher than before.

And guess what else? So did the grief, the pain, and other negative emotions.

But, I wouldn't trade it for the dull, dead, chronic misery I felt when I believed my cluster of thoughts.

I firmly believe that when we are intolerant of negative emotions, it breeds more suffering.

When we are willing to experience all of our feelings, they come and go. Good, bad, horrid, and amazing. But, as soon as we are not willing to feel specific ones, the eating, anxiety, shopping, and yelling at our kids begins.

The behavior we so desperately want to stop becomes a compulsion.

Are you willing to feel shame?

Self-doubt?

Fear?

Because, on the other side is joy, love, peace, and pure contentment.

On the other side is your natural weight and the health you are looking for.

Are you ready to learn emotional mastery?
